Urban Marginality


 

The streets, the avenues, the parks, the train and bus stations , all of them are giving them shelter. On its sidewalks  entrance areas and stairways rest their injured and hungry bodies, their mistreated minds, many of them even insane and their emotions almost dazed by the pain…

We are talking about one of the most affected emarginated groups by the social injustice: the homeless people. As well as first line soldiers  during the war, they are the first ones in perceiving the impacts of the job loss, the hunger, the disparity of opportunities, the privilege of the wealthy and powerful people of the planet and a long list of munitions that on a daily basis kill their dreams, illusions and dignity and finally in many cases also their bodies …

This photographic project tries to transmit the things happening on the streets of the cities focusing on the presence of the totally emarginated human beings while every one of us is living our lives. Maybe some of them and for some incomprehensive reason for us, have decided to auto-emarginate themselves. But others, the big majority, are emarginated as a result of what we call “World economic crises”. Nevertheless this sample doesn’t take into account the causes of this social phenomenon but takes allowance for them, although only through the lense, by our visión, our attention…
